Westminster Canterbury Opens New Rehab Center
Lynchburg, Virginia — September 2010
Westminster Canterbury has opened a new Rehab Center with all private rooms, improving its rehabilitation services to area residents who need short-term physical, occupational and speech therapy after hospitalization. The 19-bed facility is conveniently located on the same unit with the rehabilitation gym operated by Heritage Rehab Associates.
"When you are recovering from knee, hip or other surgery that requires post-operative physical therapy, we know you also need rest and privacy" said Sean Huyett, president and CEO of Westminster Canterbury. "That's why we designed our Rehab Center with all private rooms. Rest and recovery go hand in hand."
Dan Nimon, vice president for Health Services, said, "We have long been known for our five-star nursing, proven therapy outcomes and a reputation for getting people home quickly following surgery. We've just added more reasons for the Lynchburg community to choose Westminster Canterbury for excellent short-term rehab — privacy, peace and quiet."
Huyett added, "The addition of this specialty rehab service for non-residents of Westminster Canterbury helps others experience the excellent care our LifeCare residents have come to expect over the years. In our 30th anniversary year, we want everyone to be able to experience our unique Rehab Center which, like all our services, embodies our philosophy of Life Refreshed."
Westminster Canterbury, a LifeCare continuing care retirement community, which opened in 1980 on VES Road in Lynchburg, offers independent living, assisted living, nursing care and memory support services to its 475 residents.
